My fair lady

Watched My Fair Lady musical last night. Before today I didn't know too much of this story. The cast was alright and it comes in the traditional Broadway musical style which I adored personally. Guess the British ascent used was a tough for me to comprehend fully, therefore I got lost sometimes. But enjoy myself anyway.

I was thinking about the musical and these are my …..

1) There is no need to be a gentleman or lady to find true love.

2) Generally people who really love you, are the ones who know truly who you are.

3) After becoming a lady, one should maintain the virtue of speaking one mind. Don't degrade oneself by falling into the normal gals’ category or picking up bad habits.

4) If you missed someone say so, else you might never have the chance again.

5) Why do all gown had be in white? Modernization should be in place for all aspects. After all the world is really a very colourful place.

6) Can a lady be like a man? I cannot answer this question. Yo guys out there, will you love a lady that is like a man?

Halow Senior Engineer

Some good news to share, I had gotten my long awaited promotion with pay increment yesterday. It was confirmed with a letter from my company. Way cool, I am really waiting for a long time for this. Hope it will boost my spirit a little and give me the strength to finish this pretty tough project. My target is coming March. Do my best for the coming months. Add oil  !

Coming 24th Jan 07, I will be receiving my 5 years long service award. Not too bad for a first job right. Will get my colleague to help me take photos and will post them on my space to share my unknown source of joy.

Just for you, Xuhua.

Received a belated happy New Year email from a friend the passed Thursday. She is now in Portland with her husband and I believe that she is settling down quite well there.

Her 2nd point on that email set me thinking for a while. It read as:

 2) Cheers to lost, kept and rekindled friendships!”

I thought about for a long while and recall all the details about our friendship. After all, she is my longest friend and will always be.

We got to know each other while we are attend children art class at the Queenstown Community Centre. We also attend part of our primary school together. As her family was shifting to Woodlands, she transferred to another primary school in woodlands. But we kept in touch as pen pal. Hey this must sound really foreign to many of you out there.

Times passes, we got more detached and reduce to only sending greeting cards to each other during festive seasons.

Little did I know that we will bum into each other again while attending my first day of undergraduate studies. We were in the same class again. After that we kept in touch, even though we had drifted apart and might not share the same ideals or interest. That first day of undergraduate days were nearly 10 years ago.

Today is my dear friend, Xuhua’s birthday . I will like to say that I am glad that I had her as my friend for the past 20 plus years. Where no distance or differences can set as us apart. A super cheer to kept friendship.

I asked my poor lunch buddies at work on Friday. I demanded them to inform me of their longest kept friendship. Hey I am really proud of my achievement. I was indeed blessed by many great friends.

So how long was yours? Maybe it time to keep in contact with some old friends.
